【COVID】COVID Medical Bill Insurance Plan Mandatory by the MOE
- Details
- Headline
Starting from the 1st of January 2023, the Taiwan government stops paying COVID treatment medical bills for all non-Taiwanese citizens. All foreign students must purchase a related insurance plan to cover their medical bills. To meet the requirements, the Center collects TWD1500 per quarter, i.e., TWD500 each month from all registered language students. This insurance fee is excluded from the application fee and tuition fees. You need to pay extra. The coverage includes the medical bills only, excluding the accommodation fee for quarantine.
This insurance fee will be collected until they join the National Health Insurance, a social security system here in Taiwan, or until the government relaxes this regulation.
